After having spent a decade working in the financial sector and then changing the gears to a completely new environment of academics, its been a fruitful journey of 20 years. Never was there a time, where i could have taken time off and so long to be with my family. Myself and my better half, also an academician, hardly found time to holiday with our two sons. Today we find ourselves basking with the glory and fondling care of the family. There is a chilling experience even during this summer and in the outbreak of the pandemic. Being at home has given us a complete new and innovating meaning to the so called life. All the while we the office goers, school-college going children, business people collectively were putting across a common grouse that there wasn't a quality time that we could have spend together in being together.
The outbreak has gifted all of us more than 24 hours a day, to satisfy the urge of many years of being with the loved ones. Re-discovering ourselves after being lost in the world to make our ends meet. This is the time to rejoice, praying for the safety of the entire universe, by just being at home sweet home.People has since been traversing seeking opportunities to make a meaning out their institutional degrees. Earning livelihood to keep afloat the ship of lives. All of them have come to a grinding halt, with focus on giving a meaning to life and well being of the society. Mother and motherland are the most important things in life, the calling of the roots have made the mankind to be at home in the testing time and anguish.
Re-defining living has found out to be joyful and happy. The company of father, mother, brother, sister, spouse, children and the extended time and space with all of them have given a new lease of life for eternity. Starting from the house hold chores, making a dish, washing the dishes, playing a game of chess, ludo, carom, praying the God, well all of them have been vociferously together and in ecstasy.
There is a whole set of new perspectives being introduced every other day. The business and industries are coming out with newer ideas to remain in the competitive environment. The government policies are bringing cheer on the saddened faces. The force majeure has changed the dynamics of the world. Every single individual is working hard to be at their innovative best at these tough times. A small kid is figuring out as to how to create a new dimension from the existing building blocks, a teenager is trying out different gamuts of sketching and drawing, a housewife is keeping the kitchen aromatic with new dishes, the social volunteers are seeking opportunities to serve the people in need.
Being an academician I must say that the education system in the entire country is looking at the greener pastures of the situation. The promise of going digital is being fulfilled across the length and breadth of the country in lieu of the current pandemic. Emphasis is been laid out for online education. Universities and Institutions are leaving no stones unturned to offer their services to students community while being online. GOI, MHRD, UGC, AICTE are lining up numerous courses via online like National Digital Library, SWAYAM, NPTEL, e-shodh Sindhu, MTUTOR, MOOC's. Now it is left to the perspective of institutions to progress forward leveraging on these platforms.
A real opportunity amidst the crisis, can we grab with both the hands and see our Nation Bharat as the Vishwaguru in all spheres of life. Time can only decide. May the doer do something unique, for the world recognizes only the odd's and not the even's.
Beautifully described the lock-down with enthusiasm by bringing out the inner you sir

ReplyDeleteA good attempt to explain Lockdown experience has been made by Dr Sathyeshwar.People at home must be very happy. Many of us have converted Lockdown as Time for New Learning. Dear Sir,
ReplyDeleteThanks for spreading optimism and positivism. ... Every problem presents an opportunity for innovation .... If one door closes, another opens !!
In the coming days, the whole world will look at India for health care (Ayurveda, Ayush, Yoga, Meditation, pharma products, ...), Indian food habits (vegetarian in particular), Indian spiritual thoughts, ... so on
In our education system, we only teach materialistic approaches to life. We do not teach why and how of living. From now on, teaching fraternity has an opportunity to teach differently. I request the teaching fraternity to introduce the thought of nationalism to students. You teach your syllabus, but teach how an individual makes a society and how a society makes a nation. Without a nation there can be no society, without a society there is no individual.
Teach them the tangible world what we see is not the truth. The truth is something else to be experienced oneself. Along with the physical health, mental health and spiritual health is also important.
I am sure Dr. Satyeshwar is already doing all these ...and I hope others will emulate the same.....
and that is the way and perhaps the only way ...
Very good explanation covid-19 situation

ReplyDeleteIt's true that, working style of organization s would change after this covid19, there shall be a place for performers not for hangers in any organisation setup. One has to focus on employable skills rather than certificate of qualifications, now the opportunities are immense to upgrade onself in this direction.

ReplyDeleteYes, Education system in our country needs to be revisited and revised. It should no more be a classroom session between 4 walls. Technology has become an integral part in every aspect of our lives then why not still in education system. Now that world is looking at us as the largest youth resources then we should also try to be the best humans. Learning everyday should become a habit and that is only possible through Digitalization. Our country has a huge potential for digitalization and we the people should grab the opportunity and come up with as many ideas n sloutions as possible .
ReplyDeleteThanks for the nice write up Sathya.
